چکیده
The synthesis of a Substitute Natural Gas (SNG) that is compatible with the gas grid composition requirements by using surplus electricity from renewable energy sources looks favourable solution to store large quantities and decarbonise network while maintaining same infrastructure. most promising layouts for SNG production conditions under which reduces environmental impacts if compared its fossil alternative still largely untapped. In this work, six different biomass fluctuating are point view means Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology. Global Warming Potential (GWP), Cumulative Energy Demand (CED) Acidification (AP) selected as impact indicators analysis. influence key LCA methodological aspects on conclusions also explored. particular, two functional units chosen: 1 kg produced MJ output (SNG electricity). Furthermore, approaches dealing co-production applied. results show layout based hydrogasification has lowest all considered cases apart GWP CED mass unit avoided burden approach. Finally, selection multifunctionality approach found have significant technology ranking.

Investigation on life cycle assessment of lead and zinc production
Lead and zinc production is one of the main predisposing factors of excessive greenhouse gases emissions, air pollution and water consumption. In this paper, the environmental problems of lead and zinc production in Calcimin plant are expressed and life cycle assessment of this plant is assessed. The data regarding the amount of induced global warming and pollution, acidification, and depletion...
متن کاملGoal and Scope in Life Cycle Sustainability Analysis: The Case of Hydrogen Production from Biomass
The framework for life cycle sustainability analysis (LCSA) developed within the project CALCAS (Co-ordination Action for innovation in Life-Cycle Analysis for Sustainability) is introducing a truly integrated approach for sustainability studies. However, it needs to be further conceptually refined and to be made operational. In particular, one of the gaps still hindering the adoption of integr...
متن کاملMixing Studies in Loop Bioreactors for Production of Biomass from Natural Gas
The mixing behavior of the gas-liquid phase in three loop bioreactors was investigated. A gas-induced External Airlift Loop Bioreactor (EALB), a forced-liquid Vertical Tubular Loop Bioreactor (VTLB) and a forced-liquid Horizontal Tubular Loop Bioreactor (HTLB) were used for mixing studies as well as biomass production from natural gas. The effect of design parameters, riser to downcomer cro...
متن کاملLife cycle assessment of fuels for district heating: A comparison of waste incineration, biomass- and natural gas combustion
The aim of this consequential life cycle assessment (LCA) is to compare district heating based on waste incineration with combustion of biomass or natural gas. The study comprises two options for energy recovery (combined heat and power (CHP) or heat only), two alternatives for external, marginal electricity generation (fossil lean or intense), and two alternatives for the alternative waste man...
متن کاملLife-Cycle Assessment for the Production of Bioethanol from Willow Biomass Crops via Biochemical Conversion*
We conducted a life-cycle assessment (LCA) of ethanol production via bioconversion of willow biomass crop feedstock. Willow crop data were used to assess feedstock production impacts. The bioconversion process was modeled with an Aspen simulation that predicts an overall conversion yield of 310 liters of ethanol per tonne of feedstock (74 gal per US short ton). Vehicle combustion impacts were a...
